LeBron James Shows Respect to LA Clippers Legend

In this story:
San Antonio Spurs rookie Victor Wembanyama turned in a historic performance vs. the Los Angeles Lakers on Friday night, finishing with 27 points, 10 rebounds, 8 assists, 5 steals, and 5 blocks. While the Lakers won the game, Wembanyama certainly made headlines with this showing.
Asked about Wembanyama after the game, Lakers star LeBron James spoke about his unique ability to impact the game as a rookie, but also named several other rookies who came into the league at a very high level.
"Zion [Williamson], Luka [Doncic], Kyrie [Irving], Anthony Davis, Blake Griffin, Tyreke Evans. It's been a lot of guys that have been great this fast. [Wembanyama] is one of them," James said.

Showing love to LA Clippers legend Blake Griffin, James made sure to mention him as one of the rookies in the modern era who dominated the league in their first season. Still the last rookie to make the All-Star team, Griffin had one of the greatest rookie seasons of all-time, averaging 22.5 PPG, 12.1 RPG, and 3.8 APG that season.
The only rookies in NBA history to average at least 22 PPG, 12 RPG, and 3 APG are Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Elgin Baylor, and Griffin. This season helped jumpstart a lifeless Clippers franchise, who can trace back a lot of their current success to Griffin being that good that fast.
