Philadelphia 76ers Star Reacts to James Harden Trade Saga

Tyrese Maxey is a rising star with the Philadelphia 76ers, and while he only has three years of NBA experience, he has already witnessed two star teammates demand trades. With the latest being James Harden, who is attempting to facilitate his way to the LA Clippers, Maxey spoke on going through another trade request saga.

"It's crazy to say this, but it's not our first rodeo," Maxey said via his Maxey on the Mic podcast. "That's funny to say, but that's life. James is his own individual, and he's able to do whatever he pleases. I'm preparing right now to play with him or without him... and I love James. If James decided he's going to come back and play for us, there's nobody in this organization that would be upset about that."

It's reasonable to assume these are the feelings held by most players on the 76ers, including Joel Embiid, because Harden's trade request has nothing to do with his current teammates. Upset at the organization, and specifically Daryl Morey, Harden no longer wants anything to do with the 76ers. Hoping to be traded to the Clippers, Harden may not be able to get his wish if things stay where they're at right now.

As has been well documented, the 76ers have shut down trade talks with the Clippers, and plan to bring Harden into camp. It's unclear if that will change, but as of right now that is where things are.
