Russell Westbrook Could Make NBA History vs. Raptors

In this story:
Russell Westbrook is one of the greatest point guards in NBA history, and he continues to climb up all-time statistical ranks as his Hall-of-Fame career progresses. Currently just nine assists behind Isiah Thomas for 9th place on the NBA's all-time assists list, Westbrook could make history vs. the Toronto Raptors on Wednesday if he tallies at least 10 assists.
In his first six games with the Clippers, Westbrook has reached at least 10 assists in three of them. He is averaging 8.3 assists per game with the Clippers, so he has a real chance to pass Thomas on the all-time assists list in this game vs. Toronto.
Once Westbrook passes Thomas on the all-time assists list, he will trail only John Stockton, Jason Kidd, Chris Paul, LeBron James, Steve Nash, Mark Jackson, Magic Johnson, and Oscar Robinson in career assists. Of these players, only LeBron James and Oscar Robertson have more career points than Westbrook does.
If Westbrook can continue this level of production for even just a couple more seasons, he can pass a few more names on the all-time assists list. A three-time leader in assists per game, Westbrook is one of the best passers of all-time, and has continued his playmaking proficiency with the Clippers.
If Westbrook does not pass Isiah Thomas in this game vs. the Raptors, he will almost certainly pass him when the Clippers host the Knicks on Saturday.
