Strange James Harden Development at 76ers Scrimmage

As James Harden awaits a trade from the Philadelphia 76ers to the LA Clippers, the star guard has been a regular participant at 76ers practices. There was some question about whether or not Harden would show up to training camp, but the former league MVP has been doing his job.

While he has not caused any issues during 76ers training camp, Harden still wants a trade to Clippers, and is hopeful one will happen before the season begins. It doesn't seem Philadelphia and LA are any closer to a deal than they were earlier this summer, but there was an unusual Harden development on Saturday prior to a 76ers scrimmage.

According to Kyle Neubeck of PHLY Sports, Harden was present prior to the scrimmage, but was not announced like the rest of his teammates were. Unsurprisingly, this raised questions about what could be going on behind the scenes. With no real update on his absence from the scrimmage since this initial news, it seems the likeliest scenario is that while Harden has been participating in practices, something like this is where he chooses separate himself.

It will be interesting to see how Harden approaches actual games if a trade is not made prior to the season starting, because while the star guard has vowed to never play for an organization Daryl Morey is part of, sitting out games could come with consequences.
