First Look at Ja Morant and Derrick Rose Playing Together
When the Memphis Grizzlies signed Derrick Rose, so much of the conversation became about the connection between he and Ja Morant. While Rose has made it clear that he is here to push Morant as apposed to "babysitting" him, the former league MVP will also have an important role on the court both before and after Morant's suspension is lifted.
In an Instagram post from the Memphis Grizzlies, the first look at Morant and Rose playing together was shared, which got fans excited about the point guard duo:
While serving his suspension from the NBA, Morant is ineligible for preseason games, but can practice with the team in camp as seen in this picture. This is a pretty big deal for the Grizzlies, because while they will have to go the first 25 games of the season without their star point guard, they are at least getting some reps with him during training camp.
With some new pieces to integrate, the Grizzlies want to make sure they have as much cohesion as possible entering this season. There is a lot on the line for Memphis this season as they look to graduate from an up and coming team to a real contender in the Western Conference. Securing the second seed last season, Memphis took a step towards contention, but was sent home in round one. This year the Grizzlies will look to make a much deeper run.
