Kyrie Irving is questionable for the Mavericks vs. Grizzlies game

Dallas Mavericks guard Kyrie Irving is officially listed as questionable for Monday night's game vs. the Memphis Grizzlies. This questionable status is current, because the Mavericks have already ruled Luka Doncic out for this game; however, Irving remains questionable on their latest injury report update.

Because Irving has not yet been downgraded in the same way Doncic has, it does seem as if there is a chance he could play in this one. The Mavericks could certainly use him, as they sit just a half-game above the Golden State Warriors for the sixth-seed. If they lose this game, and the Warriors take care of business against the Houston Rockets, Dallas would be right back in the play-in picture. For obvious reasons, the Mavericks certainly want to avoid the play-in tournament, and have an opportunity to do that if they take care of their own business.

This game is equally important for the Grizzlies, as they are looking to hold onto the two-seed, as they currently share that spot with the Sacramento Kings. Kyrie Irving has begun to catch a bit of a rhythm with the Dallas Mavericks, but there is still a lot of work to do for both him and the team to get to where they hope to be entering the postseason. Dallas will be going up against a Memphis Grizzlies team that is missing Ja Morant still, so if Kyrie Irving were to play, he should be the best player on the floor. Irving's final status will likely be revealed shortly before game time, but for now he remains questionable.
