Jimmy Butler Takes Scary Shot to Face in Grizzlies vs. Heat

In this story:
InIncredibly shorthanded, the Memphis Grizzlies picked up one of the most shocking wins of the NBA season on Wednesday night, defeating the Miami Heat on the road. Without Ja Morant, Desmond Bane, Marcus Smart, Derrick Rose, Steven Adams, Luke Kennard, Santi Aldama, Jake LaRavia, and Brandon Clarke, Memphis went into Miami and stole a win from Jimmy Butler and the Heat.
Late in the fourth quarter, Butler took a scary shot to the face from Grizzlies forward Vince Williams Jr. that forced a timeout due to bleeding:

One of the toughest players in the NBA, Butler was able to stay in the game and finish out the final 2:41 of game time. This was a scary sight, as shots like this can often take a player out of a game and even force an extended injury absence, but it seems Butler has avoided that worst case scenario.
This was a disappointing loss for Miami, who was playing with Terry Rozier for the first time since acquiring him from the Charlotte Hornets. While Miami expects to contend in the Eastern Conference this season, they currently sit in 6th place, which is not where they want to be. That said, this team just proved last season that seeding does not always determine how dangerous a team can be in the postseason.
For Miami, they just have to get in the playoffs to have a shot.
