Legendary College Basketball Coach John Thompson left a legacy as an icon to the African-American community

John Thompson's legacy within the African-American community surpassed basketball on the court. Thompson symbolized a strong, wise mentor to many young men and lead the Georgetown Hoyas to a national championship becoming the first-ever African-American head coach to do so. His life was truly an inspiration to African-American players, coaches, and fans.
