Memphis Grizzlies Announce New Roster Move

The Memphis Grizzlies are set to face the New Orleans Pelicans on Tuesday night, and they have announced a roster move prior to this game. The team announced on Monday evening that Jake LaRavia had been sent back down to the Memphis Hustle.

The Hustle do not play until Wednesday against the Indiana Mad Ants, so it's possible that LaRavia will practice with the team prior to their game and then travel with them to face Indiana.

With Memphis getting some reinforcements back, beginning with Ja Morant, they can allow LaRavia to spend more time with the G-League team. Marcus Smart has also been upgraded to questionable for Tuesday night against the Pelicans, so he could be returning for this game as well.

LaRavia has struggled in his limited NBA minutes this season, averaging just 3.3 PPG in 12.4 minutes per contest while shooting 34.4% from the field and 15.0% from deep. While all of the injuries to key Grizzlies players could have opened up more minutes for LaRavia, his play in limited opportunities did not lead to Memphis feeling comfortable putting him in the rotation.

These G-League reps will be important for LaRavia as he works to get his shot back on track after a rough start to the year. For Memphis, they want to see their young forward get going.
