Memphis Grizzlies Make Big Official Announcement

In this story:
The Memphis Grizzlies made a big announcement on Monday, announcing that the team had made contract decisions on four key players. Per the official announcement, the Grizzlies revealed they had exercised 2024-25 rookie scale contract options on Ziaire Williams, Santi Aldama, Jake LaRavia and David Roddy.
All four of these players are highly valued by the Grizzlies organization, and each have shown different flashes of ability that intrigue the team. For Williams, he has not gotten a ton of NBA experience yet, but the team values him as a future rotation wing. Aldama was a regular contributor last season, and projects to be in the mix again this season.
As for Roddy and LaRavia, both players have gotten minimal opportunities at the NBA level, but the team is high on both players. Roddy had some opportunities to start last season when Memphis was shorthanded, and often impressed in those games.
The Grizzlies are in win-now mode, but they also have some promising young talent that can help extend this window for several years. In addition to these young complimentary pieces, the Grizzlies also have a very young core of stars in Ja Morant, Jaren Jackson Jr., and Desmond Bane. With these three, along with what Memphis is building with their other young pieces, the Grizzlies should be a very good team in the Western Conference for a long time.
