Victor Wembanyama Makes History vs. Grizzlies

In this story:
San Antonio Spurs rookie Victor Wembanyama has met the hype early in his rookie campaign. While the rebuilding Spurs have not won many games, Wembanyama has been incredible on both ends. With 19 points, 13 rebounds, 4 assists, 1 steal, and a career-high 8 blocks vs. the Memphis Grizzlies on Saturday night, Wembanyama joined Spurs legend David Robinson is the only players in NBA history to post that line or better as a rookie.
It's fitting that Wembanyama would join Robinson on this list, as the rookie sensation looks to follow in his footsteps as a legendary Spurs big man. While San Antonio lost the game, it's hard not to get increasingly excited about what Wembanyama continues to show on both ends. While his offensive efficiency has gone up and down, which is understandable, Wembanyama's rim protection is very impressive.
Eight blocks is not something that happens very often, and especially not for a rookie. Combining this with 19 points, 13 rebounds, 4 assists, and a steal made the performance historic for Wembanyama. This is not the last time Wembanyama will make NBA rookie history, as he is already posting stat lines like this just 13 games into his NBA career.
The Spurs want to start winning games, but for now they can get excited about what their rookie sensation has showed to start his career.
