Miami Heat's Bam Adebayo Reportedly Chosen For 2024 Olympics In Paris

Miami Heat center Bam Adebayo is set to have a chance to win a second gold medal in the Olympics.

According to a report by ESPN's Adrian Wojnarwoski, Adebayo will make the cut. This marks the second time Adebayo will play in the Olympics. He helped the United States win a gold medal in 2020 in Tokyo.

The rest of the team will include Golden State Warriors guard Steph Curry, LeBron James (Los Angeles Lakers), Kevin Durant (Phoenix Suns), Jayson Tatum (Boston Celtics), Joel Embiid (Philadelphia 76ers), Devin Booker (Suns), Tyrese Haliburton (Indiana Pacers), Anthony Edwards (Minnesota Timberwolves), Jrue Holiday (Celtics), and Anthony Davis (Lakers).

Adebayo is averaging 19.3 points, 10.4 rebounds and 3.9 assists this season for the Heat. He has steadily improved in each of his seven seasons since being drafted out of Kentucky in 2017. Among his accomplishments is being a three-time NBA All-Star and making All-Defensive second-team four times.

This season, Adebayo helped lead the Heat to an appearance in the Play-In Tournament. They open against Embiid and the Philadelphia 76ers Wednesday. If the Heat win, they would advance to the first round of the playoffs and play the New York Knicks. Even if they lose, the Heat still have a chance for a spot in the postseason but would have to win two more games.

Adebayo is the first Heat player to represent the Heat in the Olympics since LeBron James did it in 2012. The only other Heat player to earn the honor was legend Dwyane Wade.
