Miami Heat guard Tyler Herro didn't need much time to get himself back acclimated in the lineup.

Herro, who had been sidelined since Feb. 23 with an injury, scored 17 points in the Heat's victory Friday against the Houston Rockets. Herro was dealing with knee and foot injuries.

“It’s just great to have him back,” Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said. “As head coach I didn’t forget what he brings to the table. The skill level, the creativity, the speed... those are all things that we need.”

The Heat are unsure if Herro will play Sunday against the Pacers but Friday was encouraging.

“I’ll probably get a stern talking to from the training staff,” Spoelstra said. “The big thing will be how he feels tomorrow.”

When healthy, Herro gives the Heat yet another proven scorer. He was having an All-Star caliber season before an ankle injury sidelined him 18 games. This was his second setback of the season. The Heat are hoping Herro remains healthy to help them make another deep run in the playoffs. Last year they made the NBA Finals despite Herro missing virtually all of the postseason because of a wrist injury.

"I mean, just getting healthy," Herro said. "It wasn't a huge injury. It just kept lingering on and every time I would work out, it would set me back ... It was hard not being able to work out be with the team but I ultimately took a couple weeks off and was able to get healthy."
