In this story:

When Tyler Herro returns from injury, Miami Heat guard Terry Rozier is expected to become the No. 4 scoring option.

That's perfectly fine with Rozier because he is finally figuring out when to take it upon himself in the offense. He did that Sunday by scoring a game-high 27 points in a win against the Washington Wizards.

"Just trying to look for our available shot," Rozier said. "I can score the ball. I've been like that all my life. Obviously, I can play-make for guys, too. Just trying to put things together out there with Jimmy and Bam. We've got Duncan. We've got a lot of weapons. Just trying to use it to our advantage and get our best shot."

Rozier is almost like the Heat's sparkplug. It's his job to step up if Jimmy Butler or Bam Adebayo (and Herro when he comes back) are struggling.

"That's what he's for," center Bam Adebayo said. "He's not here to do anything else, but be that spark, be that light when we need him."

It has taken Rozier some time to get acclimated to the situation. In Charlotte, he was the primary scorer for the Hornets before he was acquired by Miami at the trade deadline.

"Terry is getting a lot more comfortable," Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said. "He really is pure. He wants to help. He wants to contribute. He wants to make things better ... Offensively, it's just taking a little bit of time. When you're thinking of others so much and you're hearing it, `You have to be you,' that's easier said than done."'
