Miami Heat Rookie Jaime Jaquez Recently Became Part Of Jordan Brand

Miami Heat's Jaime Jaquez joins rookies Jett Howard, Cam Whitmore and Marcus Sasser as latest editions to Jordan Brand company

It didn't take Miami Heat rookie Jaime Jaquez to get his first shoe deal as an NBA player.

He was recently named among the latest editions to the Jordan Brand. He was joined on the rookie list by Jett Howard, Cam Whitmore and Marcus Sasser.

Jordan Brand is so much bigger than basketball, and that’s what I love so much about it and being a part of it,” Jaquez Jr told BoardroomTV. “I am proud to say I’m now a part of a brand that has impacted people from all walks of life – from music to soccer to baseball to football and more.”

The Heat drafted Jaquez with the No. 18 pick in last summer's draft. He played four years at UCLA, earning Pac-12 Player of the Year honors as a senior. The Heat are expecting him to compete for a rotation spot because of his experience. He is among the rarity of players to spend four years in college.

Injuries have stunted his development. He only played in one summer league game after sustaining a shoulder injury. He will also miss Wednesday's preseason game against the Brooklyn Nets due to a groin pull.

Still, the Heat are excited about what he can potentially bring to the lineup. He can play both forward positions and also shooting guard.
