Anthony Edwards’ Statement About Miami Heat Culture Should Excite Fans

Anthony Edwards praised Erik Spoelstra and the Miami Heat organization.

Star guard Anthony Edwards has spent a lot of time with Miami Heat coach Erik Spoelstra in the FIBA Basketball World Cup.

The two came together with a common goal of helping Team USA win, but are forming connections of their own. Edwards’ latest praise toward Spoelstra was him being a product of the organization’s culture.

“He’s been dope, man,” Edwards said in an interview via Complex Sports. “Bringing a lot of energy. The Heat Culture, it’s exciting to see. His first day with the scout, I was like okay. I see what they mean when they say Heat Culture. He came in with a lot of energy, getting right to the point, so precise with the details. So, it's been dope.”

While it’s extremely unlikely Edwards goes to Miami, words like these may attract him in the future. The Minnesota Timberwolves will likely remain a borderline playoff team unless they make a major trade or free agent signing. But considering their trade package for Rudy Gobert, paired with their contracts in the frontcourt, they probably won’t be landing a big name soon.

Edwards could look elsewhere, and the Heat could be first on his list. Their playoff success, Edwards’ connection with Spoelstra, and his play style to complement Jimmy Butler, could all be catalysts for him ending up in Miami.

Plus, fans are already running with the idea of him going to the Heat soon.
