NBA Legend Jerry West Gives High Praise To Miami Heat Center Bam Adebayo

Miami Heat center Bam Adebayo earned recognition from Hall of Famer Jerry West through his team-first play style

NBA legend Jerry West spent his entire career with the Los Angeles Lakers but gave considerable admiration to Miami Heat center Bam Adebayo.

Earlier this month, West appeared on an episode of The Rich Eisen Show, where he said this about the two-time All-Star.

"I think Bam Adebayo in Miami is really good. He plays every night. He competes every night. He gets numbers every night. Even if say he doesn’t score on some nights, he’s still gonna help them win because of his value to his team. And he doesn’t get a lot of publicity."

West was a remarkable player during his era, averaging 27.0 points, 6.7 assists, and 5.8 rebounds, so receiving a compliment from him is not something to be taken lightly.

Last season, Adebayo averaged the best numbers of his career with a career-high 20.1 points. However, as West said, even when struggles occur offensively, his defensive prowess should not go unnoticed. He is among the top candidates to win Defensive Player of the Year next season.

Adebayo is consistently underrated by the public eye due to his lack of flashy play. However, that could soon be-ended if Miami wins a championship with the help of seven-time All-Star guard Damian Lillard.
