In this story:
Even though he is years removed from being an impact player, Miami Heat team captain Udonis Haslem is finding a way to put his stamp on the NBA.
Nothing better displayed that when former Chicago Bulls forward Derrick Jones Jr. had a key block Monday in the closing seconds against Philadelphia 76ers star James Harden. The play helped the Bulls secure the victory.

In the postgame interview, Jones gave credit to Haslem, who offered key advice when they were teammates with the Heat.
“When I was a young kid in this league one of my vets, Udonis Haslem, always told me, ‘Stay ready so you ain’t got to get ready.’ So, that’s one thing that I do. I stay ready so I ain’t gotta get ready,” Jones said. “Whenever my number’s called, I’m ready to play. I’m ready to go out there and give it 110 percent.”
It was just a few weeks ago Memphis Grizzlies forward Dillon Brooks praised Haslem for his work with younger players. Despite Haslem playing seldom, he continues to find ways to impact games.
