How Miami Heat’s Twitter Reacted to the Win Against the Orlando Magic Sunday Afternoon

The Miami Heat's season finale was all about Udonis Haslem.

Miami Heat fans knew veteran Udonis Haslem would see the floor for the last time against the Orlando Magic. So what better way to go out than a 24-point performance in a season-ending victory? Regardless of Haslem’s performance, fans would express their appreciation for the 20-year Heat veteran. But it was still good to see him having a high-scoring performance to get the victory on Sunday.

This was Haslem’s highest scoring game since 2009, and tied the second-highest scoring game of his career. The exclamation points were his alley-oop dunks and 3-point shooting, giving a throwback to some of his old playmaking. Haslem was anticipated to show out in his final game but nobody expected him to have this type of display. Haslem’s performance had fans calling for him to start earlier in the season.

Some fans even jokingly compared this to Kobe Bryant’s final game in 2016, when he had a 60-point performance to beat the Utah Jazz.

The scoring comparisons even led to some pokes at players like Robin Williams III and Ben Simmons.

The Heat have to start their postseason journey by winning the play-in tournament. They play the Atlanta Hawks (41-41) Tuesday night to determine who automatically advances to the playoffs. The No. 7 seed has never lost since the play-in format was introduced in 2020. Also in Miami’s favor is their recent success against Atlanta, including defeating them last postseason in five games. Trae Young continued to struggle playing the Heat this season, which Miami will look to take advantage of Tuesday night.
