Jaime Jaquez Jr. Shares Hilarious Pregame Story Of Jimmy Butler

Miami Heat rookie Jaime Jaquez Jr. discussed a time when veteran star Jimmy Butler was "blasting Ed Sheeran and lighting a candle in his locker"

Miami Heat forward Jaime Jaquez Jr. is growing a strong bond with veteran Jimmy Butler through his first season.

Jaquez is preparing for his All-Star Weekend schedule, which includes the Rising Stars game and the Slam Dunk contest. The events cannot begin until interviews are completed, where Jaquez shared a comical pregame story of Butler with SiriusXM NBA Radio.

"I'll share one of the more calmer moments. I think before pregame he goes in, and this is one of the earlier games he's like blasting Ed Sheeran and lighting a candle in his locker," Jaquez said. "I was like, this is an interesting way to get ready for the game, but sometimes he just gotta get in his mindset and his mode, and sometimes that's to be calm and tranquil."

Jaquez and Butler have appeared in commercials together, with this story further confirming their connection. Despite the experience difference, the tandem has the same goal in mind, an NBA championship.

"I would say I got a lot of vets," Jaquez stated. "He's definitely one of them. I would say him, Josh Richardson, K-Love, Caleb Martin as well. Me being the only rookie on the team, a lot of guys have taken me under their wing."
