Miami Heat's Bam Adebayo Says All-Star Selection Is A Show Of Respect From Peers Around The League

Adebayo was most impressed by finishing fifth in the player vote

Miami Heat center Bam Adebayo was not a favorite when it came to the fan voting for the NBA All-Star Game.

He failed to make the Top 10 but made it for it in the player and coaching vote, which led to him being chosen Thursday as a reserve. Adebayo felt that validated his growth as a player.

"More importantly, I think the real thing that stood out by All-Star was the player voting," Adebayo said. "Amongst my peers, the fact that I got fifth, that's big respect from not only the coach but the guys in the league."

This marks the second All-Star appearance for Adebayo after making his first in 2020. The moment was somewhat spoiled with the Heat falling to the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden a few hours after the selections were announced.

"It's good to be back in the All Star but I'm kind of bummed we lost the game," Adebayo said.
