Sports Personality Bill Simmons "Most Afraid" Of Miami Heat In The Playoffs

Bill Simmons recently shared his fear of the Miami Heat's ability to takeover in the NBA playoffs

The Miami Heat are a team no one is looking to face in the early rounds of the NBA postseason.

The Heat have won a multitude of upset series in recent years against teams such as the Boston Celtics, Milwaukee Bucks, and New York Knicks. Their ability to thrive in the playoffs stems from star Jimmy Butler, who seemingly flips a switch once the time comes.

NBA personality Bill Simmons is fearful that multiple Eastern Conference contenders could suffer an unfortunate postseason exit if matched up with the Heat.

“As you know, I'm the most afraid of Miami every season," Simmons said on his podcast. "I do feel like the Celtics match up with them unbelievably well if we have Porzingis. I just think it's too much size for them, but they're deep. This team's lurking, and I think they know they can beat Boston. They know they can beat Milwaukee. They're going to be in that 4-5 spot... It means the Celtics will be staring at them in Round 2. And I think this is what Miami wants. It’s not what I want.”

The Celtics have fallen short to the Heat, but the new additions of guard Jrue Holiday and big man Kristaps Porzingis could result in a different outcome. However, the Heat's additions of Terry Rozier, Jaime Jaquez Jr., Delon Wright, and Patty Mills offset Boston's firepower to an extent.

Time will tell if the Heat's streak of improbable postseason runs continues with roughly 20 games remaining in the regular season.
