In this story:

Miami Heat All-Star center Bam Adebayo spoke about his former teammate Gabe Vincent. During an interview at his youth basketball clinic, Adebayo had this to say about Vincent leaving.

"At the end of the day, [Udonis Haslem] preaches it; I preach it; no matter where the money is, go take care of your family... That’s the biggest thing. Guys get into this situation and have so many opportunities to go take care of their family... For me, man, it’s bittersweet that [Vincent] is not going to be my teammate no more. But at the end of the day, we can go on vacation together."

This offseason, Vincent signed a three-year, $33 million contract with the Los Angeles Lakers. The Heat were unable to provide him with this price point without being forced into the luxury tax.

Adebayo still expressed high respect for his friend and former teammate. Making known that he commemorates Vincent for taking care of his family. One of the main reasons Vincent reportedly signed with the Lakers is because of family in Los Angeles.

The ‘bittersweet’ aspect Adeabyo expressed is understandable. Vincent was a key contributor to Miami’s historic playoff run last season. He averaged 12.7 points and 3.5 assists on 40.2 percent shooting from the field and 37.8 percent from beyond the arc.

His closing remark was a sincere way to show the media he still considers Vincent a friend. Further showing his leadership on and off the court.
