Bill Simmons Says Miami Heat Should Keep Jaime Jaquez Out Donovan Mitchell Trade

In this story:
The Cleveland Cavaliers haven't even reached the midpoint of the season, but there is already lots of Donovan Mitchell trade talks.
The Cavs have a decision to make the next few months. With there speculation of Mitchell opting out of the final year of his contract during free agency, they have to decide to risk losing him for nothing or making a trade this season.
The Miami Heat were linked with Mitchell for the past few seasons, so obviously they could become one of his favored landing spots. Media personality Bill Simmons recently said the Heat should have interest long as they avoid including rookie Jaime Jaquez in the deal.
“If it was Donovan Mitchell for Tyler Herro, [Nikola] Jovic, your 2024, ‘28 and ‘30 firsts, maybe some sort of swap," Simmons said on his podcast. "That’s a pretty good outcome for the Cavs. I think that’s as good as Miami would do. I would not put Jaquez in the trade if I was Miami. I’m just not trading him

Herro was off to a fast start before an ankle injury sidelined him 18 games. Some feel he is expendable because of the Heat's run to the NBA Finals without him. They also believe Jaquez has the potential to become an All-Star, especially after being a rotation player since Day One.
It will be interesting to see how it plays out but it really depends on the Cavs' thinking of moving forward with or without Mitchell.
