This offseason, the Miami Heat have prioritized acquiring Portland Trail Blazers seven-time All-Star Damian Lillard. The constant headache Heat fans are dealing with could come to an end in the next 24 hours.

Sports Radio Talk Show host John Gambadoro believes a team will acquire Lillard in the near future.

“Damian Lillard is going to get traded very soon,” Gambadoro said. “I would even say probably within the next 24 hours... I am expecting a Damian Lillard trade.”

An important aspect that Gambadoro avoided mentioning was the Heat’s involvement. In the past week, a multitude of teams have reported interest in Lillard, including the Chicago Bulls and Toronto Raptors.

Despite his lack of desire to play elsewhere, organizations continue to pursue the superstar guard.

The Blazers are likely hoping to move on from the Lillard era prior to training camp. This will allow Portland’s young core of Scoot Henderson and Shaedon Sharpe to build chemistry alongside the assets they receive.

After months of waiting, Pat Riley and the Heat’s front office are close to acquiring their offseason target.
