DiNardo made some good points for both positions. On one end, Herro has been an essential player for Miami since his rookie season. His fourth quarter performances and high-level scoring gave the Heat a solid offensive option. On the other hand, his below-average defense paired with inconsistency, has some questioning his contract and future with the team. President Pat Riley deemed him and Bam Adebayo as essential pieces for the future in a press conference after the season ended. But the attention since has been fully toward acquiring Lillard. For this to happen, Herro is almost certainly going to be dealt in a three-team trade.
This is all just speculation, but given the timeline of the Lillard trade, we will probably hear many more Herro takes for months to come.
