If there’s anything Miami Heat fans love, it’s trolling the Boston Celtics and their fanbase.

They always find a way to do it, even in unimaginable circumstances. Friday evening was no different, as they somehow flipped Udonis Haslem’s retirement post as a way to clown Celtics center Robert Williams III.

One fan posted Haslem’s final regular season game, highlighting his scoring performance (24 points vs. Orlando Magic) was greater than Williams’ career high (21 points vs. Cleveland Cavaliers).

Celtics fans tried to counter but it was no use. The comment section was filled with Heat fans ready to combat any statements from the Boston fanbase.

This displays the intense rivalry between Miami and Boston, which has only been exemplified in the last few years. They faced each other in three of the last four conference finals, with the Heat winning twice (2020, 2023) and the Celtics once (2022). Jaylen Brown’s contract extension locks him in to Boston for the next few seasons. The Celtics are practically in win-now mode but Miami has been their kryptonite for over a decade. They are 1-4 in series against the Heat since 2011, with the sole win being a Jimmy Butler three away from defeat.

Boston’s addition of center Kristaps Porzingis, paired with the Heat’s…eventual acquisition of Damian Lillard should introduce an exciting chapter to the historic Eastern conference rivalry.
