NBA free agency has not started off well for Miami Heat fans. On Saturday morning, Max Strus agreed on a four-year, $63 million sign-and-trade with the Cleveland Cavaliers.

The Heat fan base is becoming impatient with the organization.

Some fans are tired of the front office making minimal moves during free agency, letting solid contributors such as Strus and Gabe Vincent walk. Over the past few seasons, team president Pat Riley has made few additions during free agency. In the sign-and-trade, Miami only received a second-round pick for Strus, which fans believe is considerably low value for a player of his caliber.

A lot of fans believe the organization allowed Strus to walk to clear cap space to acquire All-Star Damian Lillard. Lillard is the focus of the Heat fanbase this summer, as they believe he will get them over the hump to win a championship. After losing in the Finals twice in the past four years, Heat fans hope this is the offseason where Riley makes a major move.

Some of the Cavaliers fan base is also frustrated about this signing because they believe Strus is not worth almost $16 million per year. Some fans are happy due to the shooting Strus adds to the roster, but not at the price they paid. This made some Heat fans feel better about the loss of Strus, as Miami could not have paid him that amount without being forced into the luxury tax.
