Miami Heat vs. Charlotte Hornets Matchup Of The Night: Jaime Jaquez Jr. vs. Brandon Miller

In this story:
Miami Heat forward Jaime Jaquez Jr. and Charlotte Hornets No. 3 pick Brandon Miller are facing off on Tuesday.
Although the rookies were selected more than a dozen picks apart, they have both shown flashes of star potential.
Jaquez recorded a career-high 20 points in a victory over the Atlanta Hawks. He is averaging 8.3 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 1.3 steals.
Miller is averaging 12.8 points on 44.4 percent shooting through nine games. He played efficiently in Charlotte’s Sunday evening loss to the New York Knicks, scoring 11 points on 5 of 6 shooting.
Jaquez and Miller share an unfortunate feat that occurred on draft night. Many criticized Miami’s selection because Houston Rockets Cam Whitmore was still on the board. Meanwhile, most believed Portland Trail Blazers guard Scoot Henderson was deserving of the No. 2 pick.
The critiqued rookies are outperforming Whitmore and Henderson early on. Whitmore is averaging 2.3 points in 7.7 minutes, while Henderson is averaging 8.8 points and 4.6 assists.
Heat stars Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo hold advantages over Gordon Hayward and Mark Williams. Meanwhile, Charlotte star guard LaMelo Ball is going to thrive in a matchup with veteran Kyle Lowry.
The Heat have won five straight games, looking to add a sixth against the 3-6 Hornets.
