The Miami Heat took down the Charlotte Hornets 111-105 to earn their sixth consecutive win.

Behind a stellar performance from Jimmy Butler, Charlotte stood no chance after falling behind in the second quarter.

In the final seconds of the opening half, Butler made the Heat’s play of the night. He rushed past half court before attempting a shot over two defenders. The shot banked in, leaving Butler with all smiles as he walked to the locker room.

This pushed Miami’s momentum further, entering the break with a nine-point lead. Charlotte made multiple attempts at a comeback late in the game, but their efforts were overwhelmed.

Butler finished the night with 32 points, five rebounds, and two steals on 10 of 14 shooting. This game was a statement for Butler, whose offensive production had been decreasing over the last few weeks.

As a team, Miami struggled from beyond the arc, shooting 8 of 31. However, their ability to create inside prevailed over Charlotte's efficient shooting.

Rookie Jaime Jaquez Jr. also hit a buzzer-beater to end the third quarter. Jaquez recorded 17 points and five rebounds on 61.5 percent shooting. Not to mention, nine of his points came in the final quarter.

Jaquez, along with Duncan Robinson, were the closers for Miami. Robinson scored 18 points on 46.2 percent shooting.

The Heat take on Mikal Bridges and the Brooklyn Nets at home on Thursday night.
