In this story:
Miami Heat forward Jimmy Butler came up just short in the NBA's Clutch Player of the Year voting.
Butler finished second to Sacramento Kings guard De'Aaron Fox. This was the first year of the award.
Butler was among the league's best player during crunch time.
“He's arguably the best closer in the game,” Heat forward Kevin Love said. “It's unbelievable what he's able to do out there. He's our leader. He sets the tone for us. I'm taking him pretty much over anybody in the league when it comes down to closing out a game.”
Butler is coming off a 35-point performance against the Milwaukee Bucks in Game 1 of their Eastern Conference first round series. The Heat are looking to increase their 1-0 lead tonight in Game 2 in Milwaukee.
