Nikola Jokic Won Finals Against Miami Heat, But Can He Repeat With Current Roster?

In this story:
The Denver Nuggets’ championship over the Miami Heat has many declaring them the favorites to repeat in 2024.
Fresh off a Finals MVP and nearly a third consecutive regular season MVP, it’s safe to say Nikola Jokic is the best player in the world right now. But even the best need help.
No player in league history won multiple titles without a Hall of Fame teammate. Players like Giannis Antetokounmpo and Hakeem Olajuwon captured one but couldn’t do it again without help. This displays the difficult nature of winning without superstar support. Currently, Jokic is the only Nuggets player with a chance to be enshrined if his career ended tomorrow.
Jamal Murray’s postseason ascension is commendable but he’s still never even been an All-Star. Aaron Gordon is a solid role player but is far from a Hall of Fame or even All-Star caliber player. Jokic may need more to contend with teams like the Phoenix Suns and Los Angeles Lakers.
Yes, Denver swept the Lakers and beat the Suns handily. But for them to do it again will be tough, especially with the additions Phoenix and Los Angeles made this off-season.
This is not a slight to Jokic or anyone on the team. Michael Jordan, LeBron James and Kobe Bryant never won without at least one Hall of Fame teammate. If a star gets injured or struggles, they need their counterpart to step up and help contest with harder opponents. Jokic could need more to claim another ring.
If he is able to win again with his current squad, we may need to hang his jersey in Springfield immediately.
