The Miami Heat have been in pursuit of Portland Trail Blazers superstar guard Damian Lillard all offseason but have little to show for it.

Even the Blazers No. 3 pick, Scoot Henderson, indirectly showed signs of belief in Lillard being moved in the near future. He recently spoke to Bill Oram of The Oregonian, where he shared his opinion on being drafted to Portland.

"It’s probably the best situation I could possibly be in, ever," Henderson said. He then doubled down by saying, "I’m here to stay."

Henderson is not oblivious to the drama surrounding Portland’s front office in regards to Lillard. Considering the Blazers lack of success in recent history, these comments would not make much sense unless he has a feeling he's taking the reins.

With Lillard out the door in the coming weeks, Miami can begin building chemistry while the Blazers start their rebuild. Some believe the Lillard saga could extend as far as the February 9 trade deadline.

Henderson has an incredibly bright future, being compared to the likes of Russell Westbrook and Ja Morant.

He has incredibly big shoes to fill, taking over for the organization's all-time leading scorer and most beloved player.
