Report: Miami Heat Could Explore Trade Offers For Tyler Herro Ahead Of Contract Extension

In this story:
The Miami Heat could explore trade options before Tyler Herro’s four-year, $120-million contract extension begins next season.
Jake Fischer of Yahoo! Sports Jake recently reported there is "increased speculation" the Heat could move Herro before the start of next season. Much of the chatter stems from Golden State Warriors Jordan Poole, who signed a nearly identical contract to Herro last offseason, being traded Thursday to the Washington Wizards.
It is believed Miami could choose to take the same route by trading Herro for a veteran presence that helps them win now. The Heat are part of trade rumors surrounding Portland Trailblazers Damian Lillard this offseason and would likely include Herro in that package.
Miami could feel that Herro is expendable after make the Finals last season without him because of a broken right hand. Their Finals run was largely because of Max Strus and Gabe Vincent stepping up in the postseason. They are set to become free agents this offseason.
The Heat would enter the luxury tax if they made the decision to re-sign Strus and Vincent, making the idea of trading Herro more enticing.
