Tyler Herro Proving Doubters Wrong After Efficient Performance In Red, White, And Pink Scrimmage

In this story:
Miami Heat guard Tyler Herro is hoping to prove doubters wrong this season following a second straight summer filled with trade rumors.
In the annual Red, White, and Pink Game, Herro impressed crowds with an efficient performance. He totaled 17 points on 71.4 percent shooting from three-point range. It’s important to note this game was viewed as light-hearted to much of the roster.
Herro was expected to be moved by the Heat to acquire Milwaukee Bucks guard Damian Lillard this offseason. Instead, Miami missed out on Lillard, meaning Herro is entering next year with a chip on his shoulder.
Coach Erik Spoelstra spoke highly of the guard entering his fifth season.
“If you take somebody with his work ethic that’s so determined during the offseason and that just carries over during the year, you’re going to see a player that continues to improve,” Spoelstra said. “That old saying that young players only improve in the first three years—he's obliterating that concept because I think he’s poised for a big jump this year.”
The Heat are gearing up for their preseason opener against the Charlotte Hornets tonight. We may not see much of their starters, but Herro proved in the scrimmage that he can perform regardless of playing time.
