Heat Edge Hornets, 116-114

In this story:
CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The Charlotte Hornets dropped a heartbreaker to the Miami Heat Monday night, 116-114.
Miami won the battle in the paint and on the glass with Mark Williams out of the lineup and Charlotte being forced to play small ball with P.J. Washington at the five. The Heat were without Bam Adebayo but received solid contributions all throughout the lineup. Their domination inside allowed them to control the game through the first three quarters, leading by as many as 14.
Miles Bridges burying a three at the buzzer at the end of the third sparked a strong start to the fourth which allowed the Hornets to get back in the game. Terry Rozier had the hot hand in the second half and nailed a triple to bring the Hornets back to within three with 43 seconds left. Moments later, he knocked down a pair of shots to make it a one-point game. His halfcourt heave at the final horn didn't fall, giving the Heat a close win.
Best of the Night: Terry Rozier
Rozier had his best performance of the season aside from his 37-point outburst in the win over Brooklyn a couple of weeks ago. He hit big shot after big shot and did a good job of running the offense and facilitating the rock, finishing the night with 34 points and 13 assists.
Worst of the Night: Nick Richards
Richards got the start in place of the injured Mark Williams tonight and did not fare well. He had several lapses on the defensive end, forced a few shots inside, and was out of position for rebounds on both ends.
Stat of the Night: 5,533
At the end of the first half, Terry Rozier had six points which was good enough to move him past the legendary Muggsy Bogues for sixth on the Hornets all-time scoring list with 5,533 points.
