WATCH: Steve Clifford Discusses Loss to Miami

In this story:
Initial thoughts on the loss
"I've got to watch the film but I thought our intensity was good. I thought we played better as the game went on. The starters were pretty good early. They played like three and a half minutes to end the first half and played a really good third quarter. And then when we broke the lineup, some of those guys just haven't played together a lot so far. But they did good things. It was good to play against a different team."
How Brandon Miller played
"I thought he played well. No matter what, they're hard to play against. He did a lot of good things and played very well defensively. I thought Nick Richards played very well also. It's hard because guys obviously can't play their regular minutes and we got to slowly build them up so it's hard to sub them the way you would during a regular season game."
LaMelo Ball's first game back
"I think he's getting more and more in rhythm. Compared to say five days ago it's night and day. He's a hard worker and he worked hard all summer he just wasn't able to do live stuff. He's only been doing contact for a few days and he's making great progress."
James Bouknight undergoing surgery
"It stinks for him and for us. It's just part of the NBA. The only thing he can do is concentrate on doing a good job rehabbing and getting back as soon as he can."
