Jazz Players had a Busy Weekend Participating in the FIBA World Cup

In this story:
Utah Jazz fans may have more than a two month wait before regular season games get underway but don’t tell that to the three rostered players that were busy representing their country in the FIBA World Cup this weekend.
Which players stood out? Here’s your one-stop shop on how your favorite Jazzmen fared.
Walker Kessler — USA
It was a productive couple of days for Team USA, but Kessler continues to only see the court during garbage time. Utah’s starting center finished the two-game set with two points and one rebound in three minutes of action. On a positive note, Team USA is 3-0 in exhibition play, including a 98-88 victory over No. 1 ranked Spain on Sunday.
Team USA has two more exhibition games versus Greece and Germany before their first game which counts against New Zealand on August 26.

Kelly Olynyk — Canada
On Sunday, Olynyk had arguably the best game of a Jazz player in a 113-112 win over Germany. The 10-year well-traveled veteran finished the game with 21 points and four rebounds but more notably made a game-saving block with four seconds left in the contest. On Saturday, Olynyk finished with thirteen points on 4-5 shooting in a 107-76 win versus New Zealand.
Olynyk was born in Toronto, Ontario, and moved to Kamloops, British Columbia in the seventh grade. Team Canada has a chance to make some noise moving forward led by Olynyk, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, and RJ Barrett.

Omer Yurtseven — Turkey
Utah’s newly acquired center posted a double-double in a 104-66 victory over Bulgaria. Yurtseven finished the game with eleven points while hauling in eleven rebounds. Jazz fans that aren’t familiar with Yurtseven will get plenty of opportunities to watch him play. The 7-foot big man is one of four NBA players representing Turkey and will be getting starter minutes moving forward.
