Thanks to the 2023 NBA offseason, the Utah Jazz managed to add a collection of new talent to further enhance the future outlook of this team. However, finding how each of these players will fit and click with one another looks to be a focal point of the upcoming season, especially in training camp.

During Friday’s media availability with Jazz HC Will Hardy, he went on to talk about the approach for the team as they enter training camps, specifically surrounding how he will deal with the new implementation of F John Collins into the lineup:

Take Lauri [Markkanen] and Walker [Kessler] for example. I think what I think of those two people, but everything I think about them is based on them playing a lot with Kelly Olynyk. They're both going to play a lot with John Collins this year, so I have to think about them a little bit differently, and I have to be flexible on what I’m willing to do or try with them in order to make that three-person group of Lauri, John, and Walker work to the best of their abilities.

History informs you of certain things. I’m not going to totally try to abandon anything that I think of those guys, but I have to scale back my bias to start the year."

The Jazz acquired Collins through an offseason trade, sending F Rudy Gay and a future second-round draft pick to the Atlanta Hawks for the 2017 first-rounder. Looking to bounce back from an underwhelming last season, a new situation in Utah could be the perfect chance to get his production back on track. However, it comes down to the coaches to put complementary support around him.

With training camp incoming in less than a week, it provides the first steps for Collins to get adjusted to his new team and mesh with his new surrounding cast.
