If anybody was questioning who the Sixth-Man of the Year award should go to, Jordan Clarkson made a very good case for himself on Monday night.

Against the Philadelphia 76ers, Clarkson came off the bench and played 29-minutes of the game. During those 29-minutes, Clarkson set the tone as he led the Jazz to victory with marksman-like precision and a deadly three-point shot.

Although he came up two-points shy of his career high, Clarkson's 40-points were astounding and much needed in a hard fought battle between the two top teams in each conference. He is the first Jazz player to put up 40-points in a game this season, and he is also the first Jazz player to score 40-plus points off the bench since Thurl Bailey in 1988

Another cool fact about last night's performance by Clarkson was that he joined Buddy Hield, Rodrigue Beaubois, and JR Smith as the fourth player in NBA history to come off the bench and score 40-points with eight or more three pointers.

Eight-three pointers also ties a Utah Jazz franchise record. With those eight from beyond the arc, Clarkson is now deadlocked on the franchise leaderboard with Bojan Bogdanovic, Randy Foye, Rodney Hood, and Jeff Hornacek. Those eight-three pointers also set a new career high for Clarkson, with his previous high being six against the Phoenix Suns in 2018.

Some of Clarkson's teammates also chimed in and celebrated his showcase last night, stating that he should be named sixth-man of the year, and also shouting him out for a fantastic game.

The Jazz are now 23-5, and 19-1 in their last 20-games. The Lakers and 76ers both losing on Sunday and Monday night helps the Jazz to solidify themselves even more in the number one spot in the NBA. They will take on the Los Angeles Clippers in back to back games on February 17, and February 19.
