Upon his long-awaited return to the floor on Wednesday after missing his past eight games, some other exciting news came about surrounding the Utah Jazz’s All-Star forward Lauri Markkanen.

According to Nick DePaula on X, Markkanen has signed a multi-year shoe deal extension with Nike. He’s been signed onto the company since being drafted into the NBA in 2017, and it seems the partnership is only going to continue.

Pairing with his newly signed endorsement extension, Markkanen also unveiled his new Nike GT Hustle PE colorway in his return vs. the New York Knicks. It’s a clean concept highlighting the Jazz’s throwback shades for their 50th season, also with some “LM23” and “Finnisher” text on the back.

Markkanen took to his Instagram after the Jazz win over the Knicks, showing gratitude to Nike and alluding to more being in the works:

“UNREAL 🤯 First PE shoe! Thank you @nikebasketball for making this happen. Growing up in Finland I never could have even dreamed about this.. Just the beginning, a lot more 🔥 coming! #TheFinnisher #LM23 #NikeAthlete"

Considering the seven-year league vet re-upped with a new deal, we can expect some more colorways and potentially even a signature shoe within the near future.

Markkanen should take the floor for the Jazz on Thursday’s back-to-back against the Portland Trail Blazers, with the hope he’ll be rocking his new sneakers once again.
