Former Jazz All-Star Re-Ups With Timberwolves on Two-Year Extension

In this story:
While the league remains relatively quiet in the days succeeding the All-Star Weekend, the Minnesota Timberwolves made headlines on Monday morning when they decided to sign veteran point guard and former member of the Utah Jazz, Mike Conley, to a two-year extension, keeping him with the team until the 2025-26 season.
The news was reported by ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski on Twitter/X where he detailed Conley would be back on a $21 million deal spanning over the coming two seasons:

Conley was a part of the Jazz not too long ago, considering he spent three and a half seasons with the team from 2019-2023. In his time with Utah, he averaged 13.8 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 5.8 assists en route to three playoff appearances and the first All-Star selection of his career.
He was eventually dealt to the Timberwolves at the 2023 trade deadline last February for a package centered around the Los Angeles Lakers first-round pick for the summer of 2027. Ultimately, it was tough to part ways with such a crucial component of the Jazz's success, but he's managed to become an established and valuable piece with his new home.
With the type of production Conley has put up and the critical role he's played in Minnesota, this deal sticks out as a great one for the Timberwolves. He's been a nightly starter for each of the 50 games he's played this year to help lead this team to the 1st seed in the Western Conference at the All-Star break. Now, he gets an opportunity to build on that success across the next two seasons in the Twin Cities.
Conley and the rest of this talented Timberwolves squad will continue to build on their successful campaign this season, with hopes to win their first playoff series since 2004.
