In this story:

Over the past couple of games, the Utah Jazz have been without their All-Star forward Lauri Markkanen, as he’s been dealing with a hamstring strain. He missed both matchups against the New Orleans Pelicans, and while both games resulted in wins, we know how much better this squad can be with their best offensive weapon on the floor.

However, it looks like the Jazz will be without Markkanen just a bit longer. According to the team’s most recent injury report on X, Lauri will not travel with Utah during their upcoming two-game road trip as he continues to rehab. The next chance he’ll have to suit up will be on December 2nd against the Portland Trail Blazers before a nine-day break.

Across the 15 games Markkanen has appeared in, he’s averaged 23.7 points, 8.7 rebounds, and 1.1 assists on some solid efficiency (48.4/38.3/84.0). Without his scoring impact, players like Jordan Clarkson, John Collins, or maybe even rookie Keyonte George should be among the few players to step up in his absence.

Utah’s upcoming road trip consists of matchups against the Memphis Grizzlies and the Minnesota Timberwolves, each of which are teams the Jazz have been up against earlier in the season. Considering all of those contests were games Markkanen appeared in, these next two present a new challenge for Will Hardy’s squad.
