The reigning league MVP and Philadelphia 76ers’ star Joel Embiid has begun to put some added pressure on the front office to build a championship team around him. Despite the talented collection of playoff squads Embiid has been a part of throughout his career, he has yet to reach his long-desired goal of getting a championship ring.

According to ESPN, in a sitdown with Maverick Carter at an Uninterrupted Sports Film Festival, Embiid made it no secret that he wants to win badly in this league, even if it is not with the 76ers:

"I just want to win a championship. Whatever it takes. I don't know where that's gonna be, whether it's in Philly or anywhere else, I just want to have a chance to accomplish that. I want to see what it feels like to win that first one, and then you can think about the next one. It's not easy, but it takes more than one or two, three guys. You got to have good people around you, and myself, every single day, I work hard to be at that level so I can make it happen. So, every single day, I'm working towards that."

While Embiid later put this comment off as a typical troll comment on his Twitter, I am not buying it. Embiid has dealt with one postseason failure after another throughout his seven-year career. It is hard to imagine moving onto another franchise or situation is not at least in the back of his mind.

With this recent development broadcasted across the NBA community, Vegas wasted no time posting odds for where The Process could land next. According to Bookies.com, the Utah Jazz are among the few teams mentioned as a potential destination to get Embiid after this upcoming season.

While Philadelphia remains the favorite to retain Embiid across the next two years, the Brooklyn Nets and New Orleans Pelicans are teams placed ahead of Utah that could also service a deal.

It is impossible to predict the future, which is especially true for the NBA. In the grand scheme, these betting odds mean little to nothing in terms of how the future of Embiid will develop in Philly. Oddsmakers oftentimes know no more than fans, and they definitely can't predict the future either.

What it does show is fan and media eyes are already locked on Joel to become the next superstar player to request a trade.

We can pump the brakes a bit though, as such a massive deal would be a bit far in the future. A trade involving the MVP would likely not even be in consideration for Daryl Morey until the 76ers’ season begins unraveling. Trading a top-five player in the entire league is not an event that occurs unless absolutely necessary.

Now, if Philadelphia once again fails to reach the Eastern Conference Finals in 2024, then you will start seeing every fan busting out the trade machine in hopes of a deal happening.

One thing still remains certain: the Jazz would be one of the few teams to have the collection of assets to pull off this type of move. It is a bit hard to predict what a package would look like at this point and time, but Utah has tons of flexibility on that end.

It might be a long shot, but The Process in Salt Lake City would be a scary sight for the rest of the league.
