The former Utah Jazz coach continues to find postseason success, this time following a win above the 2-seeded Boston Celtics in the first round of the 2023 playoffs. After being recruited to the Atlanta Hawks via mid-season hire, it's safe to say he's made a significant mark on Atlanta.

Trae Young was a big factor in the Hawks' Game 5 win, following his last-second shot to pull Atlanta ahead, 119-117, to force a Game 6 in the A. Bally Sports reported what Snyder told Trae as his opportunity came to light on Tuesday night:

“Be instinctive. Make a play. We all believe in you.”

And made a play he did. Young capped off his historic night with a bang, ending the night with 38 points and 13 assists, avoiding what most expected to be a playoff elimination in Boston. Despite the overrated chants and fans counting Atlanta out, Trae refused to back down.

It was after the massive shot when Trae Young's dad, Ray Young, had some great respect to hand to the former Jazz coach.

Snyder was the previous Jazz coach before Will Hardy, spending a long eight years with the franchise before deciding to step down from his role with the franchise last June. After a seven month hiatus from coaching, Snyder is back, and quickly making a difference for Atlanta.

The former Jazz coach was a part of a big turnaround for the Jazz at season's end, helping push Atlanta to a postseason appearance in-part due to some play-in success. Despite closing the regular season with a 10-11 record, Snyder and the Hawks have managed to exceed some expectations this April.

While Snyder ultimately decided it was the best decision to part ways with Utah in the end, it's worked out well for both sides. The Jazz have also been able to work well as of recent with new coaching addition, Will Hardy. Hardy's proved his worth by be a key piece of the Jazz core moving forward, as he looks to build off his 2022-23 campaign next season.

Quin and the Hawks will look to continue to push for a potential upset against the Boston on Thursday in Atlanta. They'll look to continue to try to force a Game 7 despite the Celtics entering the game as -6.5 favorites.
