Jazz Give Telling Hint Surrounding the Future of Two Promising Rookies

In this story:
During the 2023 NBA offseason, the Utah Jazz came into the draft with an abundance of first-round picks. Ending the night with three selections in the first 30 picks (most in the league), it gave Utah a great base of exciting, young talent to move forward with.
However, it might take some time to see that young talent get consistent playing time on the main roster. According to the Jazz’s injury report leading up to Saturday’s contest against the Phoenix Suns, the team announced that both F Brice Sensabaugh and F Taylor Hendricks would be inactive due to being on assignment.

OUT - Taylor Hendricks (On Assignment)#TakeNote
While the 2023-24 G-League season doesn’t begin until November 10th, it can be assumed that both rookies are eyeing some time with the Salt Lake City Stars as their year approaches. The term ‘on assignment’ by itself doesn’t give us a ton of context as to why neither will be seeing any action tonight, but the expectation would be along the lines of spending time with the development staff or the Stars roster instead of making the road trip to Arizona.
Given that both of these players are a little more raw than someone like Keyonte George is in their first year, seeing some of their time focusing on development is an idea that became increasingly expected as the NBA season rolled around. It’s not uncommon to see younger, less experienced players see some initial time in the G-League, and given how many playable guys currently stand on the Jazz roster, this is likely the best opportunity to see them get time on the floor.
Jazz fans won’t be totally without seeing their young talent competing in the big leagues, as Keyonte has already begun seeing some solid opportunity within his first few games. As the season continues to progress, those minutes will only increase.
Utah will continue their 2023-24 campaign on Saturday at 8 PM MT, where they’ll take on the Phoenix Suns on the road, looking to build off an exciting win in the Delta Center a night ago.
