Jazz Televised In-Season Tournament Games Revealed

In this story:
There’s some good news for Utah Jazz fans on the national stage front. Utah will have two of its four in-season tournament games televised to a national audience.
TNT will televise the home game versus the Phoenix Suns on November 17, and the road contest slated for November 21 against the Los Angeles Lakers will be on ESPN. Also, the Memphis Grizzlies tournament game will be on the road scheduled for November 10, while the Portland Trail Blazers game will be in Salt Lake City on November 14. This will be the first nationally televised game since Jazz head coach Will Hardy took over the reins in 2022.

It will be an uphill battle for Utah out of the gates in the first-ever in-season tournament. The Suns, Grizzlies, and Lakers are all projected to make the playoffs in a loaded Western Conference. However, the Jazz could still sneak into the elite eight if they don’t win their group by qualifying as one of the two wildcard teams.
If Utah can make it to the single elimination round of the tournament, it will take just one win to advance to the final four and a trip to Las Vegas, scheduled to begin on December 7. Whether teams will provide more effort in these contests remains to be seen, but it has been set up with some excellent incentives that should motivate teams to put their best foot forward.
Jazz fans shouldn’t worry too much about stars resting, with the four cup games counting towards the regular season record. Also, the players on the winning team will take home a $500,000 prize for their efforts.
The NBA is trying new ways to keep the players and fans more engaged during the regular season. It will be interesting to see if teams will play with a regular season rotation or shorten it up like a playoff game.
Something needed to be done to emphasize the regular season, with stars sitting out games becoming more normalized yearly.
