Ross was a standout in an Italian league, Lega Basket Serie A, before deciding to join the Jazz Summer League squad in 2023. Within the five games Ross played in Vegas, he averaged 12.2 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 5.0 assists in 26 minutes a night.
While a successful outing for the former Pepperdine product, it was unlikely to see him on the Jazz roster for the 2023-24 season. With the amount of guard play and sheer players on the team already, there just wasn’t enough we saw from him for the Jazz to extend a two-way deal. That last spot was given out to Johnny Juzang, who also had an impressive outing in Las Vegas.
After stints with the Golden State Warriors and Portland Trail Blazers in the previous year’s Summer League, Ross has yet to push the needle far enough to sign an NBA deal at this point in his career. He’ll hopefully look to build on that going into this season in Montenegro and potentially during Summer League next offseason.
