Maybe the guys in Vegas know a bit more than the general public, but on the surface, oddsmakers look like they’ve now gone on the brink of insanity. Sure, off-season talk can get a bit out of hand at some points because that's what it's all about. This time though, we have gone too far.

The Utah Jazz are the leading favorites to land Draymond Green thi summer.

No, seriously. The team with some of the biggest reputations of both being small-market and in a rebuilding stage are the favorites to land one of the loudest, most competitive players we’ve seen in the league’s recent history.

Taking a step back to look at the other notable names on this list, many of them have at least gotten some press or rumors surrounding the connection. James Harden and the Houston Rockets have been linked since the trade deadline. Damian Lillard has already voiced his intrigue about playing with the Miami Heat. We even heard reports of LeBron James getting calls to join the Dallas Mavericks.

But, Draymond Green to the Jazz somehow seems a bit more out there than all of them.

The fit itself isn’t exactly the worst idea looking from a strictly basketball lens. Adding the vocal leader that Draymond is, along with the elite defense and playmaking he provides makes him one of the best culture setters in the association. Draymond would give this young, rebuilding team some incredible mentorship and guidance from a player with extensive playoff success over his career.

It’s just... being the favorite to land him? That seems a bit much.

Draymond is a winner first and foremost. If he’s made anything clear throughout his time in the NBA, it’s that winning is his number one priority. With this in mind, he’ll have the chance to play for organizations like the Los Angeles Lakers and LeBron James or the Heat, which would allow him to mesh incredibly well with their existing culture.

There simply are just other bigger markets and contending teams on the table for Dray to even put any seriousness into an offer from Utah. Unless the Jazz is providing him the cash to match the sacrifice he’d be making to sign (which seems extremely unlikely to give Draymond Green excessive money), the likelihood for this to happen is not what Vegas is making it out to be.
