How to Watch Jazz Owner Dwyane Wade Be Enshrined Into Basketball HOF

While never actually suiting up on the court to play for the Utah Jazz, team minority owner Dwyane Wade is set to be inducted into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame on Saturday, August 12th. After a historic career primarily for the Miami Heat, Wade’s legacy is to be cemented amongst the greatest in the game tonight at 5 PM MT/7 PM ET.

After a stellar career resulting in 13 All-Star appearances, 8 All-NBA selections, becoming a 1x scoring champion, and a 2006 Finals MVP, DWade’s done enough to merit consideration as one of the greatest guards in the history of the sport.

After his career, Wade joined the Jazz ownership group to become a minority owner in the franchise. It’s viewed mostly as an investment opportunity rather than having any majority stake in the team (those honors go to majority owner Ryan Smith), but his presence within the team nonetheless gets him some respect from Jazz fans.

Wade will be joined on Saturday in Springfield by other NBA elites such as Dirk Nowitzki, Tony Parker, Pau Gasol, and San Antonio Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich. It’s fitting to be in the same class as these historic names, given the countless great matchups Wade faced off against them during his 16-year career.

The 2023 Basketball Hall of Fame enshrinement will be broadcasted on NBA TV at 5 PM MT. Viewers can also stream the ceremony on Sling TV.

The Jazz may not have any players inducted during this year’s event, but an appearance from Wade can be considered a small consolation prize. Without any first-ballot-worthy players playing for the team at the moment, former players like Rudy Gobert and Donovan Mitchell might be the next distant prospects on the table for Jazz fans in due time.
